For organisations

Employees who learn to lead themselves, even when the pressure is on.

InsideOut helps employees work with more calm, ownership and self-confidence. Not a one-off training, but a four-month programme in which behaviour genuinely changes. You see it in day-to-day work: in collaboration, in decisions and in how people deal with setbacks.

Where InsideOut makes the difference.

Most training works on behaviour and skills. Some goes a step further and works on beliefs. InsideOut goes one layer deeper still: to how people see themselves, and who they believe they are.

Beneath our behaviour lie beliefs, norms and definitions: how things should be done, what success is, what you ought to do. Beneath those lie your values. And beneath those lies the deepest level: how you see yourself as a person. That is often exactly where a quiet doubt sits about whether you are good enough.

Usually that doubt is unconscious. You recognise it by its effect: criticism or a disappointing result feels personal, as if it says something about who you are. It shows up as perfectionism, procrastination, struggling to say no, restlessness under pressure or a constant need to prove yourself.

In InsideOut, participants become aware of how they judge themselves, and discover who they are at their core. Not as an insight on paper, but as an experience they feel in every fibre. Because this is the deepest level, it carries through to every layer above it: values, beliefs, norms, attitude and behaviour change along with it.

Two ways to take part.

Choose what suits the number of employees and your goals.

In-company

A dedicated group within your organisation

We run the programme for a group of up to twelve employees, at your premises or ours. Beforehand, we tailor the content to your organisation, the context and the participants’ learning goals.

Open programme

Employees join an open group

One or a few employees take part in an open group, together with participants from other organisations. An easy, low-threshold way to get to know InsideOut. See the programmes

Who it’s for.

For professionals who want to grow in self-leadership, self-confidence and personal effectiveness, for example:

  • young professionals and trainees at the start of their careers
  • high-performing employees who want to take the next step
  • colleagues dealing with change, pressure or a career transition

What it delivers.

For employees

  • Participants know again what is true about themselves, and act from confidence rather than a need to prove themselves.
  • They connect more easily with what really matters to them, and take charge of their choices and development.
  • They master their emotions, even under pressure.
  • They develop authentic leadership: they lead from who they are, not from a role.

For your organisation

  • Ownership and self-leadership. Participants take more responsibility for their own development, choices and results.
  • Emotional balance and resilience. Employees cope better with pressure, setbacks and stress. That helps prevent burnout and absence.
  • Better collaboration. More self-knowledge leads to clearer communication, open feedback and stronger working relationships.
  • Talent retention. Employees who see that their development is being invested in are more engaged and stay longer.

Measurable results. We take a measurement at the start and at the end of the programme, so you can see what it delivers.

A complement to what you already have.

Many organisations already offer training. InsideOut doesn’t overlap with it; it complements it.

Four months instead of one day

Participants work on lasting behaviour change over a longer period, with guidance along the way. A session every other week, 40 contact hours in total. In between, participants practise for 5 to 20 minutes a day in their own work.

Personal guidance

Every participant has their own coach, in a small group. Brenda Sarbach trains the coaches herself and supervises every programme.

Experience

InsideOut already works within organisations.

Organisations where the programme has run include:

InsideOut was developed by Brenda Sarbach, who has 25 years’ experience training and coaching professionals and teams. Before InsideOut existed, she trained staff through Sarbach bedrijfstrainingen at organisations including McKinsey & Company, Roland Berger, TU Delft, VolkerWessels, Ahold, TNO, Capgemini, Leiden University and the Dutch Tax Administration. That experience ensures the programme meets what organisations and their employees really need: practical growth that shows in day-to-day work.

“In all those years I kept seeing the same thing: employees learned new skills, but how they saw themselves remained untouched. A programme that does work on that simply wasn’t available to them. I wanted to change that. That’s why I’ve made InsideOut available within organisations too.”

“I’ve learned that my sensitivity is exactly what makes me a strong leader.”

Anna, participant via Young ABN AMRO

“At Wortell, we offered the InsideOut programme to a group of motivated employees. We saw considerable growth in their personal development. That is not only hugely valuable for them, but also of great value to our organisation. The sooner employees develop these skills, the better for them and for the organisation.”

Luc Joziasse, Wortell
